Minimum Qualifications
- One year experience in direct patient care with a home health agency, nursing home, hospital, or completion of 40 hour training course with certification
- Valid Arkansas driver’s license or ID
- Proof of auto liability insurance
- Reliable transportation

- Ability to read, write and follow instructions

- Ability to adjust to various working conditions and settings
- Ability to assist with lifting and transferring adult clients safely
- Ability to lift, transfer, squat, bend, stoop
Duties and Responsibilities
- Caregivers help older people with meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry and household tasks, self-administered medications, and bathing, grooming and dressing. Specific duties may include:
- Assisting customer with personal grooming, including but not limited to bathing, showering, dressing, shampooing and drying/styling hair, shaving, toileting, skin care, tooth brushing and/or denture care
- Transferring customer from bed to chair/wheelchair or from chair to bed
- Conducting passive range of motion exercises and assisting in the exercise of joints with active range of motion exercises
- Operating assistive devices and equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, lifts, mechanical beds, and assisting in the use of these devices
- Changing and laundering bed linens
- Assisting with meal preparation and feeding
- Performing general housekeeping duties including but not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes and taking out trash
- Straightening and maintaining orderliness of client’s immediate environment
- Shopping and/or running errands as needed
- Observes and documents client’s status on each visit
- Documents care given and any problems noted
