Water aerobics classes are one of the most popular ways that older people can stay in shape. Because of the low impact exercise, surrounded by soothing water, water aerobics classes keep your joints feeling good, your muscles strong, and your cardiovascular system active and engaged.
While CareLink Fitness & Wellness Center’s indoor pool is available for general use – such as swimming laps – we also offer group classes with an instructor.
The group classes keep your exercise varied and interesting, while giving you a sense of community with fellow class attendees. It’s easy to connect with others and make friends with those who have common interests and fitness goals that are just like yours!
Whether you are choosing aquatics classes to lose weight, for heart health, for strength, or to manage a condition or disease, our staff can guide you through the class and check in on you and your progress. By having a helping hand by your side during your workouts, you can gain confidence and results along the way.

Silver Sneaker Splash
A shallow water exercise class that uses a signature splash board to increase movement and intensity options. Splash is suitable for all skill levels and is safe for non-swimmers. You may get your hair wet with all the splashing going on!
This is a good class for beginners or those recently recovering from surgery. However, you can adjust your speed and stride length to adjust to your preferred intensity. The water provides resistance, making your muscles work harder to move through the water. At the same time, water provides buoyancy, improving balance and reducing strain on your joints. Many people that have difficulty walking on land can walk pain free in the water.
Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance. There is less impact on your joints during Aqua Zumba® Class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps your muscles.
Deep Water Aerobics
Deep water exercise is exactly what the name would imply- training in water deep enough to avoid contact with the bottom of the pool, while keeping your head above the water’s surface. This class is focused on core strength and stretching. First 5-min. is warm-up with jogging back and forth suspended. The next 15-min. will be cardio exercises to achieve target heart rate. The next 15 min. will be spent doing core toning exercises, followed by a 5-min. stretch. Floatation belts and equipment is provided.
Water Aerobics in shallow water. This class has 5 min. of warm up and 20 additional minutes of moderate impact cardio workout to achieve target heart rate. The remaining 15 minutes will be spent doing toning with the use of water pilates techniques; followed by 5 min. of stretching.
This is a low intensity class perfect for persons with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and those new to the water. Enjoy range of motion exercises and working all muscle groups. Modifications can be made to meet your individual needs.
No swimming is required for Aqua Power. This class utilizes flotation devices and dumbbells to work on strength and cardio. Intensity can be adjusted by moving faster or slower through the water.
Deep Water Cycling
This is a 30-min. cardio class, utilizing pool noodles and cycling in the deep water. This class meets right before Water Aerobics. You can use it as an add on or a standalone class.
