ENTRY-LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years volunteer management experience preferred
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Volunteer Management Certificate preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of principles of volunteer management
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of computer operations including experience with databases and MS Office Products
  • Ability to organize and coordinate the work of others
  • Ability to establish and maintain processes that support the program
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to provide a positive working environment for staff
  • Ability to perform data entry accurately and timely

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Assesses community resources in areas served by agency
  • Maintains an active recruiting strategy to attract qualified candidates
  • Coordinates with the Development Officer to publicize volunteer opportunities
  • Develops community contacts and partnerships for recruiting volunteers
  • Utilizes various recruitment strategies as appropriate to the target population
  • Ensures adequate active volume of volunteers to fulfill the daily mission of the Meals on Wheels program
  • Sets up and maintains accurate records and files

  • Ensures entry and placement of volunteers is efficient and timely

  • Ensures Background Checks have been completed prior to volunteer assignment

  • Provides volunteer orientation and training of task responsibilities prior to assignment

  • Assists in developing and maintaining forms and processes required for the MOW volunteer program

  • Maintains tracking and reporting systems and provides regular and as-needed reports

  • Identifies methods for evaluation of volunteer interactions and adjusts program activities based on results as needed

  • Collects and maintains proper documentation to fulfill compliance and funding requirements of services provided by volunteers
  • Works with Management to facilitate meal routes for guests and visitors for community informational purposes

  • Coordinates with the Transportation Department to ensure all daily meal routes are fulfilled

  • Delivers meal routes when other alternatives are not available

  • Coordinates with the Development Department and kitchen staff for special events and activities that occur

  • Keeps the Manager of Center Operations informed of the status of Volunteer Coordinator responsibilities and assists Manager

    of Center Operations with developing/managing volunteer policies, procedures and standards of volunteer service

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Annualized Salary $30,509 to $38,141
