Part-Time Meals On Wheels Delivery Driver
(State Older Worker Program)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 55 years old or greater
- Valid AR Class D driver’s license
- Driver record acceptable to insurance carrier
- Ability to life large containers of food up to 30lbs each
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Knowledge of traffic laws
- Knowledge of metropolitan geography
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
- Ability to read a map
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to exercise patience with others
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Loads meals and/or assists passengers on/off vehicles as needed
- Runs scheduled route for pick-up and/or delivery
- Contacts dispatcher to pass times, provide updates as needed and unusual situation
- Obeys all traffic laws
- Uses most direct route to minimize time and distance traveled
- Log meal route information: vehicle, times, meals numbers, and signature as required
- Conducts/documents daily vehicle safety inspection
- Reports/documents vehicles maintenance issues on inspection form and dispatch maintenance discrepancy log
- Reports vehicle malfunction to dispatch/supervisor immediately
- Conducts/logs tire pressure inspection and vehicle beginning of the month mileage monthly
- Keeps vehicle interior and exterior clean, equipment is properly secured or stowed away
- Ensures vehicle is refuels if less than 3/4 tank minimum
