Minimum Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school;
- Or three to six months related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current and valid Arkansas driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of specialized work to be supervised
- Knowledge of food production and sanitation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and executes standards and procedures of food storage, preparation, and service; equipment and overall sanitation; and employee safety.
- Tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
- Assign tasks as needed to prepare food and maintain a clean kitchen.
- Prepare and oversee meal production
- Oversee food rotation (FIFO) and maintenance of storage spaces (cold and dry)
- Ensure that safety regulations are followed.
- Check temperature of food; monitor and record.
- Check temperatures of freezers and refrigerators daily; monitor and record.
- Thaw meats and other frozen foods in advance. Check preparations for next two days’ meals.
- Perform job duties in an ethical manner.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Implement applicable policies, procedures, and goals.
- Attend required staff meetings, training, and conferences.
- Keep up to date and knowledgeable about applicable policies, procedures and regulations of specific programs, as assigned
- Ensures entry and placement of volunteers is efficient and timely
- Follow required menus and recipes in compliance with food sanitation regulations and portion guides
- Obtain and maintain ServSafe certification
- Provide input during menu development and food productions to ensure compliance and efficiency in production.
- Report equipment malfunctions or kitchen hazards to supervisor.
- Manages change by positive and timely communication
- Defines standards and methods for monitoring performance
- Participates in the identification of program objectives and coordinates work group’s activities for meeting objectives
- Identifies processes and systems for improvement
- Takes action to monitor and improve processes and systems
- Maintain food and food service supply inventory. Order, receive, and check in food and supplies.
- Maintain required records. Track daily food usage and weekly food service.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports in a timely manner.

Salary Range: $26,391-$32,317
Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
