  • Bachelor degree in social work, sociology, gerontology or related field
  • Word processing and spreadsheet skills


  • Knowledge of governmental resources and programs
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare eligibility requirements
  • Ability to perform telephone work all day
  • Ability to research and provide accurate information on a wide variety of aging issues
  • Ability to interview and obtain information
  • Ability to collect and enter data and prepare reports
  • Ability to use internet


  • Provides information about aging services, public benefits, and other resources to client’s caregivers, other agencies, and the public
  • Promotes agency services and programs; mails brochures
  • Helps gather information on resources in the community
  • Stays abreast of changes in agency services, benefits, programs, etc.
  • Gathers information from caller and as appropriate prepares a referral and submits to appropriate staff member or program
  • Handles difficult or unusual calls received by switchboard
  • Maintains logs and enters data for tracking purposes
  • Provides summary reports
  • Enters data for online resource directory
  • Handles agency e-mail
  • Receives referrals, contacts client/caregiver to gather initial information
  • Assists client as needed in completing application forms for services needed
  • Contacts other agencies on behalf of client as appropriate


Annual Pay Salary Range: $30,509 - $38,141
